Rough Ride by Kristen Ashley

Rosalie Holloway put it all on the line for the Chaos Motorcycle Club.

Informing to Chaos on their rival club—her man’s club, Bounty—Rosalie knows the stakes. And she pays them when her man, who she was hoping to scare straight, finds out she’s betrayed him and he delivers her to his brothers to mete out their form of justice.

But really, Rosie has long been denying that, as she drifted away from her Bounty, she’s been falling in love with Everett “Snapper” Kavanagh, a Chaos brother. Snap is the biker-boy-next door with the snowy blue eyes, quiet confidence and sweet disposition who was supposed to keep her safe…and fell down on that job.

For Snapper, it’s always been Rosalie, from the first time he saw her at the Chaos Compound. He’s just been waiting for a clear shot. But he didn’t want to get it after his Rosie was left bleeding, beat down and broken by Bounty on a cement warehouse floor.

With Rosalie a casualty of an ongoing war, Snapper has to guide her to trust him, take a shot with him, build a them…

And fold his woman firmly in the family that is Chaos.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Everything you expect from a Chaos novel and more!
I love KA's MC world.
Sass and sarcasm combined with hotness, protectiveness, love, and family.

"...we take care of our own."

I enjoyed Rosie and Snapper's story—quick but filled to the brim with all I needed.

This story starts of with a bang...quite a few of them really.

When all hell breaks loose, Chaos won't leave a man...or in this case...woman behind.

They rally together and do whatever it takes to protect one of their own.

"Life, Rosie," he said gently, "is not about goin' it alone. It's about finding the right people to share it with who will make it better when it's good and be there to hold you steady when it's not."

Snapper! Ugh, what can I say? He is the quiet, sexy, man-bun wearing biker.
Hot as hell and loyal to the end!

"Only thing you don't know about me is the way my cock feels buried inside you and only thing I don't know about you is how sweet you'll feel closed tight around me."

Super sweet, sexy, and like a walk down memory lane with all the previous characters present.

The epilogue had me smiling and feeling all sorts of warm and fuzzy... then it left me intrigued.
What does the future hold for Chaos?
I can't wait to find out!

Reaper's Fire by Joanna Wylde

Reaper's Fire (Reapers MC, #6)

The club comes first.

I’ve lived by those words my whole life—assumed I’d die by them, too, and I never had a problem with that. My Reaper brothers took my back and I took theirs and it was enough. Then I met her. Tinker Garrett. She’s beautiful, she’s loyal, and she works so damned hard it scares me sometimes . . . She deserves a good man—one better than me. I can’t take her yet because the club still needs me. There’s another woman, another job, another fight just ahead.

Now she’ll learn I’ve been lying to her all along. None of it’s real. Not my name, not my job, not even the clothes I wear. She thinks I’m nice. She pretends we’re just friends, that I’ve still got a soul . . . Mine’s been dead for years. Now I’m on fire for this woman, and a man can only burn for so long before he destroys everything around him.

I’m coming for you, Tinker.

Honestly, this is only my second book by JW, Horse/Reaper's Property being the first and only, and I don't remember such hilarity in that one. That being said... I loved it.
I freaking loved her writing!

The jokes and back and forth banter between Tinker and Carrie had me laughing out loud, as well as Tinker's internal thoughts. I love this kind of humor!

"I'd lick him all over and massage his butt if he asked"

To me this book had everything.
It had danger, the hotness and brotherhood of bikers, the sweet love of family, a strong and beautiful heroine and a hot-as-hell biker/ shirtless handyman!!

Joe Manganiello - he should be illegal! Honestly though how can someone be this fucking sexy!:

I didn't feel like this was your typical "biker book." If there is such a thing, but compared to others I've read... this was different.
Yes, there's bikers, drugs, strippers, booze, "bitches," and so on... but it was so much more.
It was like the biker aspect and conflict came second to the overall story!
Great sense of family and love, and lots of humor.

It was a very sweet, sad at times, funny and sexy read!!

Shifting Gears (Crossroads, #2) by Riley Hart

Shifting Gears (Crossroads, #2)

Rod Nelson is used to being someone’s good time, and that’s fine with him. Spending his days at his adult toy store, Rods-N-Ends, he never knows who he’ll meet. The second Landon Harrison walks in, he has Rod’s full attention. It seems as if Landon wants him too, so why won't the man jump in the sack with him already?

Landon never thought he’d return home to the town where memories lurk around every corner. He has to admit, Rod makes the adjustment a lot easier. He keeps Landon laughing. Despite the fierce attraction between them, he’s not willing to risk his newfound friendship to get laid.

Neither man wants something serious, but the more they're together, the harder it is to keep their hands to themselves, until eventually they stop trying.

But flings between friends are never simple, and as they attempt to shift gears, diving into their first relationship, they’re slammed with setbacks. If they want to truly move forward, before they hit the open road together, they’re going to have to let go of a past that could make them crash and burn.

Must read!!!!
I love Riley Hart and what she does to me!!!

We got a sneak peek at Rod and his quirky humor in Crossroads... well, that was but a taste of what you get here!
He had me laughing out loud quite a bit.

This was not only funny, but a very sweet, friends to lovers story with a  touch of sadness added to the mix.

Both men were in uncharted territory. Both unsure and uneasy on how to proceed as 'just friends', but they made it work.

"Just ride it out with me. That's what I'm doing, riding it out. We're shifting gears, that's it. Not sure where we're going. Not even sure I know how to get there, but let's just try to enjoy the ride."

They were sweet together, fun and absolutely HOT!!!
One scene in particular... the first one actually..... OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!
I read that one more than once!!
Add in Nick and Bryce and I was in heaven!

Rod and Landon made for an amazing story, and I'm so happy to have been along for the ride!

Ride Steady (Chaos) by Kristen Ashley

Ride Steady (Chaos, #3)

The ride of her life . . .
Once upon a time, Carissa Teodoro believed in happy endings. Money, marriage, motherhood: everything came easy---until she woke up to the ugly truth about her Prince Charming. Now a struggling, single mom and stranded by a flat tire, Carissa's pondering her mistakes when a vaguely familiar knight rides to her rescue on a ton of horsepower.

Climb on and hold tight . . .
In high school, Carson Steele was a bad boy loner who put Carissa on a pedestal where she stayed far beyond his reach. Today, he's the hard-bodied biker known only as Joker, and from the way Carissa's acting, it's clear she's falling fast. While catching her is irresistible, knowing what to do with her is a different story. A good girl like Carissa is the least likely fit with the Chaos Motorcycle Club. Too bad holding back is so damned hard. Now, as Joker's secrets are revealed and an outside threat endangers the club, Joker must decide whether to ride steady with Carissa---or ride away forever . . .

Typical biker gang club.
You're my woman, I'm your man... let's ride!!

But then again, it's not. This club is all about family, support and brotherhood. There's no skanks, whores, women being paraded around. There's no murders, bar fights or drugs.
There are of course problems and danger, ok, and there was a fight and actually there was a murder... but that's not my point!
The point is, these bikers are a family. They love one another. They love their children, their women and their brothers. That part I absolutely loved!!

Carson's early upbringing and the beginning of the book was just devastating! I cringed and I got teary eyed. I was so intrigued and was just devouring this!
Later on things got a little confusing for me. There's a lot of names, people and goings on and if you're not familiar with the lingo or characters, you might get a tad lost.
Ok, I got a tad lost!

Then comes Carissa. She brought silliness and goofiness to this rough and tough bearded biker that Carson turned out to be!

And let me say that I just absolutely loved Carson. Everything about him!
BUT, he was all mysterious and tight lipped and damned if one smile from a chick didn't turn him into Betty Crocker! That might not be the best analogy, but to me he seemed to change over night. It was all well and good, but just a little odd.

Regardless of all that, I did enjoy it and will be reading the next one!
Let's ride!!!!

The Darkest Flame by Christina Lee

BLURB

Vaughn O’Keefe has been part owner of the Hog’s Den for years.
Privy to plenty of Disciples of the Road business, he’s never been more ruffled as when a new recruit named “Smoke” walks through the door.
Something about the man gets his blood pumping, but he knows to keep his preferences under wraps around the club.

“Smoke” Callahan has done a couple of rehab stints and is finally clean, thanks to help from the Disciples.
He’s on the right path and isn’t about to get sidetracked, no matter how much the guy who manages the bar gets beneath his skin.
Besides, his last relationship with a man left him scared, alone, and with a nightmare of an addiction.

When the Hog’s Den becomes shorthanded, and Smoke is ordered to help out the one man he can’t have, his longing for the bartender reaches blistering proportions.
Vaughn figures a night together should be enough to satisfy their mutual attraction. But neither banks on just how scorching hot it might be.

As Smoke’s past unravels and the one person he hopes never to lay eyes on again messes with all he holds sacred, it’s time to involve the Disciples.
Problem is, he’ll have to risk his membership, his heart, and his own hide to keep everyone he cares about safe

MY REVIEW

The biker world isn't always a hearts and flowers, open and accepting place. They usually don't stray from their norm.

Both Smoke and Vaughn struggle with their openness in the club.
They also struggle with their attraction to each other.

There's a somewhat melancholy feel to this story, without the actual  tears.
Imagine being a big, rough and tough biker, in a biker gang and being bi-sexual. Having to keep your sexual preferences to yourself.
Both of these men finally feel as though they belong somewhere, with a 'family' of sorts, yet they can't be their true selves. That sucks!
And their true selves? Lusting after each other!

"Maybe people should be free to love whoever and however they want." "And it shouldn't be anybody's business."

There's heat, there's steam and there's get down on your knees and take me sex.
There's also mystery and intrigue.
Something is going on, someone is threatening one of their own.

This story to me, ultimately is about discovery and acceptance.
Feeling part of a family, a brotherhood and not wanting to mess that up.
Finding your happily ever after, a place where you belong and they've both found that in each other.

Rough and tough bikers want love too!

Out of Time (Nine Minutes, #2) by Beth Flynn

Out of Time (Nine Minutes, #2)

They thought with his execution it would all be over.
They were wrong.

The leader of one of South Florida’s most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs has been put to death by lethal injection. Days later, his family and friends should have been picking up the pieces, moving on. Instead, they’ve been catapulted into a world so twisted and dangerous even the most ruthless among them would be stunned to discover the tangled web of deception, not only on the dangerous streets of South Florida but all the way to the top.

In this gripping follow-up novel to Nine Minutes, Out of Time takes readers from the sun-drenched flatlands of 1950s Central Florida to the vivid tropical heat of Fort Lauderdale to the halls of Florida’s Death Row as we finally learn the gritty backstory of Jason “Grizz” Talbot, the terrifying leader of Satan’s Army motorcycle gang, and the secret he spent his life trying to conceal.

Not even Grizz’s inner circle knows his full story—the tragedy that enveloped his early life, the surprise discovery that made him the government’s most wanted and most feared, and the depths of his love for Ginny, the tenderhearted innocent he’d once abducted and later made his wife.

Once Grizz’s obsession and now the mother of his child, Ginny has spent years grieving the man she’d first resisted and then came to love. Now remarried to Tommy, a former member of the gang, the pair have spent more than a decade trying desperately to live a normal existence far from the violent, crime-ridden world they’d once carved out on the edge of the Florida Everglades. For Tommy, especially, the stakes are high. Desperately in love with Ginny for years, he’s finally living his dream: married to the woman he never thought he could have. But even with the façade of normalcy—thriving careers, two beautiful children, and a genuinely happy and loving marriage—they can’t seem to put the past behind them. Every time they turn around, another secret is revealed, unraveling the very bonds that hold them together.

And with Grizz finally put to death, now Ginny has learned secrets so dark, so evil she’s not even sure she can go on.

Will these secrets tear their love to pieces? And how far will Grizz go to protect what he still considers his, even from beyond the grave?

"As the old saying goes, life goes on. Time heals."

WOW, just wow!
Beth Flynn is a master at weaving an intricate tale. I am in awe of her talent!

At the end of Nine Minutes I was left with my mouth hanging open. Not only was that one hell of a ride, but I was left with so many questions and plenty of WTFs rolling around in my head!

"So many secrets, so many."

Out of Time shed light on all of it.
Frankly, it's like two books in one. It's an in depth look, recap if you will, of Nine Minutes, with so much more detail and insight.
Into the whys and hows.
And at the same time, it's Tommy and Ginny's life after Grizz's execution. Life after Tommy's betrayal.

"Her love for Grizz made her compromise her values. Who had she been back then? Who was she now?"

The story goes from past to present many times. Not only do we get to delve deeper into the past that we already know about from NM, but we're given the gift of both Grunt and Grizz's childhoods.
And oh my god will you need tissues!!!
Heartbreaking!

I cried so many times while reading. So many emotions.
Love and loss, regret and hurt.

The story jumps around a lot and is filled with twist after twist.
What you think you know, you don't.

There were moments I was so angry. You already know about all the crying, and then there were moments of joy.
I'll have to be honest and say one thing in particular kind of left me saying
"say what now?" but that's just me and it didn't take away from the story.

It's hard not to want to say more. There's SO much I want to talk about, but that would ruin the story for others.

It was amazing and brilliant.
Are questions answered? Yes.
Are there more questions to be answered now? Definitely!
Was I left the same way as with book 1, with my mouth hanging open and a wtf? rolling off my tongue?
Abso-fucking-lutely!
And I loved every single minute of it!!

Nine Minutes (Nine Minutes #1) by Beth Flynn

On May 15, 1975, fifteen-year-old Ginny Lemon is abducted from a convenience store in Fort Lauderdale by a member of one of the most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs in South Florida.

From that moment on, her life is forever changed. She gets a new name, a new identity and a new life in the midst of the gang’s base on the edge of the Florida Everglades—a frightening, rough and violent world much like the swamps themselves, where everyone has an alias and loyalty is tantamount to survival.

And at the center of it all is the gang’s leader, Grizz: massive, ruggedly handsome, terrifying and somehow, when it comes to Ginny, tender. She becomes his obsession and the one true love of his life.

So begins a tale of emotional obsession and manipulation, of a young woman ripped from everything she knows and forced to lean on the one person who provides attention, affection and care: her captor. Precocious and intelligent, but still very much a teenager, Ginny struggles to adapt to her existence, initially fighting and then coming to terms with her captivity.

Will she be rescued? Will she escape? Will she get out alive—or get out at all? Part psychological thriller, part coming-of-age novel, filled with mystery, romance and unexpected turns, Nine Minutes takes readers into the world of one motorcycle gang and inside the heart of a young girl, whose abduction brought about its fall.

Wow!
I didn't know what to expect when I first started reading
and I was pleasantly surprised.

This is a biker book,
biker gang,
people get killed,
crazy things happen,
but then again...
it wasn't like any biker book I've ever read!
it was better!!!

It was sweet and sad.
It was such a different kind of love story and the way it was told.. I just loved it!!

I thought I was stunned with the beginning..
but that's because I hadn't made it to the end yet!

WTF?

Wow!
I was shocked!

Bring on the next book.
I need more!!

Reaper's Property (Reapers MC #1) by Joanna Wylde

Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.
Maybe.

I know, I know, Horse isn't blonde... but this is who I pictured while I read, so work with me!

This is actually only my second biker book and it met all my stereotypical biker expectations.

Jail, trailer parks, guns, booze, skanks, short skirts, raunchiness, hot as hell sex and hot alpha men on bikes!

What surprised me was the abundance of love and tenderness, close family bond and the incorporation of a military tradition. Being a military wife, that unexpected moment hit home and was very emotional for me.

I found Horse to be very likable! Yes he’s a big, bad biker who sometimes scares the shit out of you but he’s also a good, kindhearted and sensitive man who loves his family. What’s wrong with that?
