Revved (Revved #1) by Samantha Towle

Revved (Revved, #1)

Race car mechanic Andressa "Andi" Amaro has one rule—no dating drivers. With a good reason behind the rule, she has no plans on breaking it.

Carrick Ryan is the bad boy of Formula One. With a face and body that melts panties on sight, and an Irish lilt that leaves women on their knees, begging for more. He races hard and parties harder. The youngest driver to ever sign with F1, he’s still at the top of his game five years later, breaking hearts on and off the tracks.

When Andi is offered her dream job working in the glamorous world of F1, she leaves her home in Brazil, positive she can handle working for Carrick. But she’s not prepared for the off-the-chart sparks that fly the moment they meet.

Now, Andi has a crush on the one man she can’t have, and her resolve is about to be put to the test, because Carrick has decided he wants Andi, and he plans on testing her to the very limit…

I've given myself time to gather my words properly, but it didn't work!

Simply put, I loved this story!!

First, I have to say I read this to myself in an English accent!
Seriously.. with a little Irish thrown in. It wasn't pretty at times, but a must!

Carrick- as in Car-rick. Carr for short.
He's devastatingly gorgeous, a smooth talker, sexy, funny, sweet, and did I mention gorgeous?

Andi- beautiful, tall, looks like a model but loves nothing more than getting her hands dirty under the hood of a car.

She gives as good as she gets.
I enjoyed the banter and slick come back between the characters. There's flirting, there's laughter, and there's friendship.
Great supporting cast of characters as well.

This story was quite emotional! It's sad, sweet, funny, sexy, dirty and hot!!!

Carrick and Andi have an instant chemistry, whether they want to or not and being with each other is inevitable.
Both flawed characters, both fighting against themselves and each other.

I must admit, there were moments I wanted to reach out and throttle Andi! She was driving me crazy... but I didn't let it stop me. I knew why she behaved the way she did, even if she didn't, and I am so happy with the way things turned out and how they were explained.

I read this book in one sitting. I didn't want to put it down! Ok, I did have to stop to make my family dinner, but that's it!

Quick, entertaining and smoking hot read!

Secret by Kindle Alexander

Tristan Wilder,
self-made millionaire and devastatingly handsome CEO of Wilder-Nation is on the verge of a very lucrative buyout. With tough negotiations ahead, he's armed with his acquisition pitch, ready to launch the deal of a lifetime. There’s just one glitch. The last thing he expects is to fall for the hot business owner he's trying to sway.

Dylan Reeves,
computer science engineer and founder of the very successful social media site, Secret, is faced with a life-altering decision. A devoted family man with three kids and a wife, Dylan has been living a secret for years. Fiercely loyal to his convictions, his boundaries blur after meeting the striking owner of the corporation interested in acquiring his company. For the first time in his life, reckless desire consumes him when the gorgeous computer mogul makes an offer he can't refuse.

“He’d spent so much time focusing on his family and hiding behind them, he hadn’t thought about himself, hadn’t made plans for the rest of his life.”

Dylan is a family man. He’s quiet and reserved, laid back and gentle.
You can pretty much sum up this book in the same manor.
Add in a very strong overall message of family, trust, openness, and acceptance.. and there you have it.

This book had an easygoing feel to it. It wasn’t an in your face, hot as hell, two powerhouses going at it.
Wait.. let me rephrase…
there was definitely some hot as hell and going at it,
but the overall feel is sweet, tender and loving.

These men lived completely different lives, yet clicked so well.
I enjoyed the way they came together. There was something about them that just called to the other.
It wasn’t rushed. The timing was just right.

“It’s just hard to go back to adequate once you’ve had spectacular.”

There’s one instance that I thought “What? Wait a minute, is this really about to happen? No, no no!” And then it didn’t and I was happy and they were happy and it was hot! <--- vague much? Read it!

“Only you.”

Amber to Ashes by Gail McHugh

From the New York Times bestselling author of Collide and Pulse
comes a gritty new novel about a shattered young woman who unexpectedly falls for two best friends as she struggles to overcome the trauma of her tormented childhood.
They were a storm I never saw coming, an unforeseen heartbreak on the edge of a dangerous cliff.

Amber Moretti's life changes in the span of minutes. An orphaned outsider, she is desperate to start fresh the moment she walks onto campus. In the time it takes to cross the university’s dining hall, she meets two men who bring color, air, and light to her darkened world.

They became my addiction, each a needle to my next hit, my high.

Brock Cunningham’s appeal is dizzying, a potent force Amber can’t deny. A green-eyed smooth talker, he instantly attracts Amber. It doesn’t take long for him to consume her every thought, her every breath.

Ryder Ashcroft, a blue-eyed, tattooed, and pierced bad boy, turns Amber off immediately—that is, until he kisses her, stealing a piece of her heart, her soul.

They were as opposite as fire and ice, yet I ached for them equally.

Never knowing she could be broken down in so many unexpectedly beautiful yet petrifying ways, Amber finds herself falling for both men.

Immoral? Maybe. I say undeniable. Uncontained.
But one event changes everything, shattering each of their lives…and Amber isn’t sure she can come back from it.

Amber is a broken mess.. on the inside. On the outside she's a tough, takes no shit, does what she wants type of girl.

Brock is gorgeous, an all American boy, captain of the football team deliciousness.

Ryder is his best friend. He's divine, muscles upon muscles, tats, piercings and a player.

Everyone is hiding something. But what and from whom?

There's craziness, there's tenderness, sweet and sad. The sexual tension is palpable and the sex is off the charts. But there was something missing for me. All the elements are there, yet I stayed neutral.

From the beginning I struggled. I was ecstatic beyond belief when I received an advanced copy to read and review. I couldn't contain myself. That coupled with hearing about the tears and heart ache that was awaiting me had me sort of stumped and deflated once I started reading.

I wasn't that into it!

There are some eye rolling moments, a couple unbelievable silly moments, as well as dark and holy shit ones.

Not sure how I felt about Amber throughout.

I thought the men were very intriguing. I knew they were deeper than they seemed. I was curious as to their story and I could see how she could fall in love with both of them.

But the more I read, the more I felt the same.

I highlighted several inspirational quotes along the way, but they never really hit me in the heart like I'd hoped they would.

Like I hope they do for you.

Regardless of my not loving the absolute shit out of this book.. I will read the next one.. and anything else written by Gail in the future! Why? Because I'm a fan and that's just how I roll!

Nine Minutes (Nine Minutes #1) by Beth Flynn

On May 15, 1975, fifteen-year-old Ginny Lemon is abducted from a convenience store in Fort Lauderdale by a member of one of the most notorious and brutal motorcycle gangs in South Florida.

From that moment on, her life is forever changed. She gets a new name, a new identity and a new life in the midst of the gang’s base on the edge of the Florida Everglades—a frightening, rough and violent world much like the swamps themselves, where everyone has an alias and loyalty is tantamount to survival.

And at the center of it all is the gang’s leader, Grizz: massive, ruggedly handsome, terrifying and somehow, when it comes to Ginny, tender. She becomes his obsession and the one true love of his life.

So begins a tale of emotional obsession and manipulation, of a young woman ripped from everything she knows and forced to lean on the one person who provides attention, affection and care: her captor. Precocious and intelligent, but still very much a teenager, Ginny struggles to adapt to her existence, initially fighting and then coming to terms with her captivity.

Will she be rescued? Will she escape? Will she get out alive—or get out at all? Part psychological thriller, part coming-of-age novel, filled with mystery, romance and unexpected turns, Nine Minutes takes readers into the world of one motorcycle gang and inside the heart of a young girl, whose abduction brought about its fall.

Wow!
I didn't know what to expect when I first started reading
and I was pleasantly surprised.

This is a biker book,
biker gang,
people get killed,
crazy things happen,
but then again...
it wasn't like any biker book I've ever read!
it was better!!!

It was sweet and sad.
It was such a different kind of love story and the way it was told.. I just loved it!!

I thought I was stunned with the beginning..
but that's because I hadn't made it to the end yet!

WTF?

Wow!
I was shocked!

Bring on the next book.
I need more!!

The Vixen and the Vet: A Modern Fairytale by Katy Regnery

In this modern-retelling of "Beauty and the Beast,"
Savannah Carmichael, betrayed by an unreliable source,
returns to her hometown of Danvers, Virginia with her once-promising journalism career in ruins. Given the opportunity to get back in the game by writing a patriotic human interest piece, Savannah turns her attention to the town hermit, Asher Lee, a wounded veteran who returned to Danvers eight years ago, and hasn’t been seen since.

After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher’s hand and disfigured half of his face, he's lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy…that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress with a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feeling things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn’t felt in years.

Misfits in small-town Danvers, Savannah and Asher create a bond right away, touching each other’s hearts in ways neither thought possible. When a terrible mistake threatens to drive them apart, they’ll have to decide if the love they found in one another’s arms is strong enough to fight for their hard-won happily ever after.

The Vixen and the Vet is part of the a modern fairytale collection, which will include five standalone novels:

"The Vixen and the Vet" (Beauty & the Beast) - available now
"Never Let You Go" (Hansel & Gretel) - available June 2015
"Ginger's Heart" (Little Red Riding Hood) - available 2016
"Don't Speak" (The Little Mermaid) - available TBD
"Follies on the Landscape" (Rumplestiltskin) - available TBD

Sweet, heart wrenching Beauty and the Beast type story. Full of good old fashion Southern charm. Sweet tea, baked goods, chivalry and all.

A self proclaimed hermit, Asher is a wounded vet who's missed out on years of human interaction.

Savannah's an eager and tenacious young woman back home licking her wounds after losing her job in NYC.

Together they weave a tale of love, hurt, broken hearts, passion and forgiveness.

I'm not going to say insta-love.. but there's definitely an insta-connection, and it works.

This story brought me to tears! It was sweet and endearing, funny, sexy and emotional! I loved it.

Worth the Risk (The McKinney Brothers #2) by Claudia Connor

When a McKinney brother falls in love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.

Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.

Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.

Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

LOVED!!

This was such an emotional read! I laughed, I cringed, I cried!

Trust...
Love...
Forgiveness...
Is it really worth the risk?

Both Hannah and Stephen have been hurt. Their lives have been horrifically changed by tragedy. How does one move on?

I fell in love with each of these characters. They are alike in so many ways, yet so very different.

Hannah is strong, sweet, and brave.
Stephen is intelligent, assertive and absolutely gorgeous!

Their journey is an emotional one.
You'll be laughing and crying!

Standalone? Kind of.
You don't necessarily need to read the first book, which is about Stephen's brother Matt, and a completely different and awesome story, but if you didn't and plan to after, then this book will spoil the first one for you, as Matt is ever present, as is the entire McKinney clan!

I love the McKinney brothers!!
I am so excited for the future and the books of the other brothers.
Speaking of brothers.... Hannah has some pretty hot ones of her own. Future books there also?? I sure hope so!

Worth the Fall (The McKinney Brothers #1) by Claudia Connor

They meet on a beach. . . .
Abby Davis isn’t wearing a skimpy bikini or sipping umbrella drinks, not when she’s busy chasing around four little ones.
And Matt McKinney isn’t looking for fun—he’s a Navy SEAL,
a grown man with a long list of missions . . . and fallen brothers.

They only have a week. . . .
Abby has brought her children to this beach to start over, to give them the enjoyable memories they deserve.
Matt’s been sidelined by a combat injury, and haunted by the best friend he lost and the promise he made: to remain a SEAL—focused and dedicated.
This leaves no time for what he’s always wanted: a family.

But a week is all it takes. . . .
Matt opens her heart while Abby soothes his soul.
And though they plan to say good-bye when the week is over, something magical happens on that beach, something neither can forget.
Something utterly, completely worth falling for.

Absolutely LOVED this book! I am in love with each and every character.

Not only is Matt and Abby's story sweet and beautiful, but the kids!!

Oh my God the kids will tug at your heart.

I laughed and I cried!!

This is a story of love and loss, abandonment, trust and family.

Definitely "Worth" the read!! I look forward to more from Claudia Connor!
