A Cry for Hope (Hope, #1) by Beth Rinyu

Hope McAdams life as she knew it ended on the same day that her eight year old son’s did.

Eight months later she's trying to regain some semblance of normality, while trying to repair her once perfect marriage to a man who was her best friend, but now a complete stranger. Coming to the painful realization that she must fix the hole that’s deep within her heart, she goes home to the place that she grew up in hopes that time and distance will heal her wounds and lead her back to the man she loves.

Nick Abate is an old friend of Hope’s whose heart is also on the mend. He’s home on leave from the Marines, and when he and Hope reconnect, their friendship picks up right where they left off, years ago. They both begin to heal and feel whole again with the help of each other. But when their friendship crosses the line, will Hope be able to forgive herself and move on, or will the guilt that she is harboring once again cause her to slip back into the place that she has just escaped?

What happens when two tortured souls place their trust in each other? Will they find their way back to the ones they love or will their hearts remain connected forever?

*Book one of a two part series (can be read as a stand alone)

Heed the warning!! Must have full box of tissues before reading this book!

Beth Rinyu never lets me down. I heard she had a new book coming out, synopsis be damned, I added it to my tbr list!
I don't care what it's about. Beth could write about Honey Boo Boo buying a new dress and I would buy it, read it, love it and cry my eyes out!!!
Imagine my luck, receiving an ARC!!! I was over the moon!

I had everything that I ever wanted... a beautiful child, a great husband, and a perfect home. Now I had nothing. My heart, my soul, and the reason that I breathed, my Charlie, was gone.

Oh My Gawd did I cry!! This is a beautifully written emotional journey of overcoming tragedy, finding solace in unexpected places and learning to celebrate life.
Yes it is emotional and heart-wrenching, but there is also love, friendship and laughter. Oh and lets not forget the steam!

I loved each and every character and what they brought to the story as well as the different relationships throughout. The love between a parent and child, husband and wife, and between best friends. The writing is so believable and relateable that you can't help but become attached and emotionally invested in the characters.

Happiness is the most important thing in the world. Life is too short to live without it.

I want you to go in blindly like I did, so I won't say more than I need to.
Read this book!!
5 stars all the way!

Night Shift: Dirty Things Happen in the Dark

Summer in the Big Easy is hot. Inside Tulane Medical Center the temperature is on the rise.

A doctor nursing a broken heart. A wounded warrior with no interest in love. A single father finding the girl who got away. A combat nurse trying to adjust to civilian life. Two lost souls looking for love. A former detective looking for answers and an FBI agent who finds more than he bargains for.

Desire. Lust. Excess. New Orleans will never be the same.

Six never before released stories that will leave you breathless.

Dirty things happen in the dark.

Night Shift: Dirty Things Happen in the Dark is an Anthology of 6 new, short stories. Novellas! HOT novellas.

The definition of a novella is simple- A short novel or long short story.

My definition of a novella- An awesome story crunched for time, just giving you what you really want. Getting right down to the nitty gritty without all the page fillers of a regular sized novel!
They’re quickies!

To be honest, I purchased this Anthology for 2 reasons. The first and foremost being Kindle Alexander's Closet Confessions and second, it's for charity!

Like the novellas, my reviews of each will be short and sweet!

Closet Confessions by Kindle Alexander
I am a huge M/M fan and couldn't wait to get my hands on this! I loved it!! It was sweet, intriguing, turned passionate and hot!! Seven minutes in Heaven's got nothing on this closet! And I definitely wasn't expecting the plot twist!

Rebound by Chelle Bliss
First I must say that before this, I had not read anything by Chelle Bliss. Well, holy hell... I will definitely start now!! Love Love Loved it!
Talk about HOT!! Dirty, Sexy, Delicious and Damn!! I absolutely loved the writing, especially the witty and funny one liners. There was crazy chemistry and it was just a fun and oh so hot read!!

Off duty by Sawyer Bennett
A second chances story. First love torn apart by bigotry and fear. I enjoyed this sweet story about love and family. The characters although separated for years, seemed to never have lost the love they once had for each other. Sweet and definitely hot, with a profound message. #loveislove

Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert
This was my first read by this author.
This one had me feeling like an episode of Gray's Anatomy! Sex between the doctors and nurses, gossip, friendship, lust!
Sweet and shy Joss, gets to chatting it up with a fellow hospital worker who he himself seems shy and unassuming.. but is he? They both have pasts they're trying to get over and with the help of a little Magic 8 ball action, which was cute and funny.. things get a little steamy!!

Swimming in Shadows by Eden Butler
This was my first read by this author.
Although this one had some steamy sexiness to it, the overall feeling I got from this story was mystery and loss. What's really going on and what's going to happen? I'm intrigued. I’m definitely interested in reading more from this author and more about Neil's story.

Wanting to Forget by Toni Aleo
Jordie. Hmm.. what can I say about Jordie? I’m actually a huge Toni Aleo fan, but I don’t think Jordie is the character for me.
His lifestyle and actions were just a tad raunchy and dare I say trashy. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.. everyone loves a good threesome now and then.. but this particular novella turned me off. Smut just for smut's sake? BUT, it will absolutely not deter me from reading more from Toni Aleo in the future! (just no more Jordie)

Whether you read some, all six or just one, you won’t be disappointed. And, ALL proceeds go to charity! How can you beat that?

Falling (Fall or Break, #1) by Barbara Elsborg

 photo Excerpt 2_zpsmt2lj2xd.png
Falling is easy. Landing without breaking your heart? Impossible.

Harper is no longer behind bars, but it doesn't feel like it. Ten years serving time for a crime he didn't commit have left him shut down, numb, and a frozen wreck over the simplest of choices.

He’s acutely aware of the dark-haired young man checking him out in the supermarket, but he’s too deep in panic mode to even meet the guy’s gaze. Afraid the slightest move will trigger a fall that will never stop.

Fresh off a long-term relationship with a controlling man, Malachi is stuck living with relatives who think he’s a waste of oxygen. The tall guy in the long, gray coat is the first bright spot he’s glimpsed in a long time…though the man’s unblinking stare at a bottle of shower gel is a touch alarming.

Hard experience tells both of them to turn away before lust turns to hopeless attraction, and inevitably to disaster. But once their sparks connect, the arc of electricity is too strong to deny. Even if the cost is too much to bear.

Warning: Contains an ex-con with disaster written all over him, a boy toy who’s trouble with a capital T, a damp old British house, compulsive meddling, and enough hot sex to cure the severe case of nervous babbling.

Angst, mystery and so many emotions!!

This story tore at my heartstrings. One moment I was crying the next I was laughing!

After serving ten years in prison, wrongfully accused, how do you now live a normal life? There's paranoia, hurt, shame. Will you ever trust again? Will you ever love again? Will someone ever love you?
I wept while reading, because I wasn't just reading it, I was feeling it! So incredibly sad!
And that's just a snippet of Harper. There's also Melachi, whose past and present will bring tears to your eyes.

Thankfully, there is also much laughter. Barbara's writing is so witty and she's a master at weaving humor and light into a tale of sadness, hate and hurt.
And let's not forget the heat! These men have a desperate scorching need for each other and it's quite orgasmic.

This story is filled to the brim with many twists and turns, revelations and conflicts, but it all worked incredibly well together.
