Wait by A.L. Jackson

    ALJackson-WaitBookCover5x8_BW_HIGH

From NYT & USA Today bestselling author comes a new Bleeding Stars stand-alone novel…

She is his strength and he is her weakness. And this time he won’t let her go.
Edie Evans is gorgeous. Sexy. Kind.  She’s also the definition of off-limits. But that didn't stop me from sneaking into her room to comfort her at night. But guys like me? We destroy everything, so it should have been no surprise when I destroyed us, too. The night I sent her running, I thought I’d never see her again. Until I saw her standing like a vision in the crowd.

Austin Stone is dangerous. Alluring. Tempting. He broke my heart and I refused to give him the chance to do it again. It’s been years since I’ve seen him, and now I can’t do anything but stare at the gorgeous, tattooed man playing onstage. I should run. I know I should. But like a fool, I run straight back to him. Our desire is overpowering. Our need unrelenting.
She is my hope. He is my weakness.
We should have known a passion this intense would burn us right into the ground.

Sweet, sad and at times utterly heartbreaking.
Edie and Austin, two lost souls, both battered and broken.

"The two of us magnets. Spinning. Churning. Attracting and repelling."

This story is told between past and present.  With the flashbacks you get a glimpse into when... when they were teens... when they were each other's everything.
Their relationship and their connection. How it all began.
They were both broken.. giving each other what the other one needed..
support, understanding, and eventually healing.

"One mistake."

Emotional... Amy knows how to write emotions, and let me tell you... there are some gut wrenching moments in this book! Have your tissues ready!!
Both Austin and Edie's stories broke my heart in pieces!

"Loving her might be the best mistake I ever made."

This story was a true journey of forgiveness, acceptance and love.

Beyond the Music (The Rock Gods, #7) by Ann Lister

Beyond The Music (The Rock Gods, #7)

Lincoln Stallworth, bass player for Black Ice, has quietly watched each of his band mates fall in love and has accepted the fact he'll probably never find the same for himself. He doesn't really believe in true love, couldn't fully understand the absurdity of it, or the notion there could be just one perfect person for everyone. A debilitating health issue began to shadow Lincoln in the middle of their last tour. As his physical symptoms worsen, Lincoln has to fight the urge to hide from the world and himself inside his estate.

Aaron Baylor enters Lincoln's life at his lowest point. Lincoln feels broken, damaged beyond repair, and he's ready to give-up. Aaron's patience and unwavering support slowly begin to pull Lincoln back to being present in his own life and gives him hope for a future and for love. Will Aaron be the glue that holds the broken pieces of Lincoln's life together? Can Lincoln fight his way back to good health and take a chance at love? Or will the task be too great for Lincoln to handle?

Beyond The Music is Book 7 in The Rock Gods series. This is the final story in the series, but also the launch of a new M/M spin-off series, Guarding the Gods, which will have many cameo appearances from The Rock Gods characters in each story. If you enjoyed The Rock Gods, I hope you'll give Guarding the Gods a try!

I have greatly enjoyed the Rock Gods series. Each story so different from the previous one.

Lincoln.
I was very intrigued by Linc, and could not wait to know more about him.
Just what was going on? What secret was he hiding?
I had my suspicions and couldn't wait to read this book!

The fear of knowing the truth was just as intense as remaining in the dark and fear had a way of pulling one down to the dark place where Lincoln found himself.

From his struggle to his new-found hope, and ultimately his look on life and love....
Lincoln's story was beautiful, and sad.

He was so broken and defeated, yet he kept it all to himself.
Until Aaron!!
I adored him.

"I'll be your strength if you let me."

Not only did these men share a steamy chemistry, but they had quite the deep connection.
It was all about intimacy and trust.

Of course there was also laughter, sexual innuendo, and amazing lyrics!

It was a quick read, full of emotions, friendship, love and a suspenseful twist thrown in the mix.

Overall to me this book served three purposes. It was Linc's story, the final wrap up of the Rock Gods and their men, and woman, and the promise of a new beginning.
I see more hot men in my future!!!

Ransom and Tucker satisfy a need within Heidi. And now that she’s had them, she can never go back to the way things were before.

My Review

Everybody knows there's a line that you don't cross.
Once you do.. there's no turning back. Things can never be the same.
Nobody knows that better than the characters in this book!

I am not a cheater. I do not condone cheating and I don't always enjoy books that have cheating!
But somethings it works. Sometimes it makes sense.

Let me now say... HOLY HELL is this book hot!!
It's dirty, sexy and tantalizing, yet it's sad all at the same time.

I felt for all the characters, each in a different way.
I empathized with Heidi. Hell, I feel the same way sometimes about my sex life. Everyone wants a little something extra, a little something they don't have!
Do I agree with her choices?? Eh.. can't say that I do. Was she a shining example of a woman I want to be? Not at all.
She took a taste of something she shouldn't have. Feelings got involved and people got hurt.
Tucker! Damn this man is the most wonderful husband ever invented!!! Loved him.
Ransom. Dark, dangerous, delicious. But even he got sucked into something that he couldn't turn back from. I felt for him too!!!

This story has several twists and turns. You might not agree with their decisions and I can honestly say that there were moments I didn't quite connect with or agree with, but damn!

It was a quick, naughty read that definitely hit the spot!

Untamed (Thoughtless) by S.C. Stephens

untamed

The spotlight doesn't only shine. Sometimes it burns.

Being the bad-boy bassist for the world's hottest band has earned Griffin Hancock some perks: a big house, a fast car, and most importantly his incredible wife, Anna. The one thing it hasn't brought him is the spotlight. Anna tells him to be patient, that his talent will win out. But Griffin is through waiting for permission to shine.

Without warning, Griffin makes a shocking decision and takes the gamble of a lifetime. Suddenly he's caught up in a new level of lights, cameras, and chaos. One that pushes his relationship with Anna to its limits. Anna has always found his unpredictable behavior sexy, but lately he's seen an ache in her eyes--and it has his soul in knots. Just as the recognition Griffin seeks is finally within reach, the thing he loves most in life could be slipping through his fingers...

Griffin.

How does one describe thee??

"selfish, self-centered, self-absorbed, diva, asshole, creep, moron"

Yep.. that's a good start!

When we met him in Thoughtless, we all felt the same way. Didn't we?
Griffin is the uber good looking, obnoxious, crude, jack-ass. Say anything, anytime, no filter ladies man.

As yes, he is those things.. but thanks to this book we get all of that and more!

This book is about Griffin's struggles. He's a married family man now, but being in Kellan's shadow is a bitch and something he is fed up with doing.

"They'd clipped my wings, and I was dying to fly."

From the beginning, Griffin's antics had me laughing out loud!
He is such a cocky clueless bastard when it comes to most everything around him!
For most of the book if I wasn't laughing, I was rolling my eyes or cringing at what came out of his mouth.

Later on in the story things change. Yes he is an ass, but
some of the best parts of this book are the moments between Griffin, Anna and their children.
There's a soft, tender side to Griffin nobody saw coming, including me!

And lets talk about Anna for a minute!
I LOVE her.
They are a match made it heaven.
Their chemistry is off the charts crazy... and his can do no wrong attitude, she believes it as well.
She believes in him wholeheartedly and it was beautiful to read!

Back to Griffin.
What goes up must come down... eventually, right?
Griffin is the type of guy that needs to be knocked down a peg or two and unfortunately for him, he got knocked all the way to his ass!

I cried for the Hulk.
Never thought I'd say that, but it's true.
There were quite a few emotional moments here.
Kudos S.C. Stephens for making my heart hurt for the number 1 douche-bag!

All around funny, cocky, naughty and sweet book.

The Hulk in a nutshell!

Wreck: Hawke (Sphere of Irony #4) by Heather C. Leigh

Wreck: Hawke (Sphere of Irony, #4)

Hawke Evans is the drummer for the Grammy winning Sphere of Irony. The quiet, tattooed and pierced hottie behind a pair of geek chic glasses is hiding a seriously troubled adrenaline junkie with a death wish.

Abby Kessler is studying psychology at UCLA. Her
desire to help those fighting mental illness stems from a life-changing incident in her past.

When Abby meets Hawke backstage at a local club, she’s instantly attracted to his bad boy good looks. But when she discovers the damaged man beneath the beautiful
exterior, she’s compelled to make up for past mistakes.

How long will it take for Hawke to realize his reckless
behavior isn’t only endangering him, but the hearts of those around him? How long will it take for Abby to see that she can’t help someone who has no desire to be fixed?

I was intrigued by Hawke when I read about him in Gavin's book. This is only the second book in the Sphere of Irony series that I have read, the first being Gavin's story.
Anyway, I was anxious to read about the quiet, can't sit still to save his life, drummer.

That being said, I am feeling a little down.
Not because it was so emotional that I couldn't get past it.. but that I know it was supposed to be that emotional and to me it wasn't.
It just didn't elicit the feelings I believe it was meant to.
I must be broken!

The beginning had me hooked. I was already so in love with Hawke!
His story is heartbreaking. Truly.
This part had my emotions engaged.
I had that feeling in the pit of my stomach.. that, oh my god, oh my god, kind of thing...
but then things changed, everything progressed a tad quickly and it all pretty much went stagnant for me.

Abby was quite flawed for me.
Yes she was a broken/flawed girl.. but her actions didn't make much sense.
Also their back and forth strange relationship was just weird and I didn't really feel that powerful instant connection they said they had.
Am I being too hard on them? I know they're broken and damaged characters, but I just kept feeling like something was missing. I actually did a double take at one point, flipped back and looked to see if I'd missed a paragraph.

To me, certain feelings, certain reactions were left out.

It's safe to say I'm on the fence!
Besides the things I didn't quite connect with, there was that awesome beginning and I have to give extra props for revisiting with Gavin and Mitch who I loved so much in the previous book! That put a smile on my face.

So.... I liked it. I think.

Regardless, I fell in love with Heather while reading Gavin's book and I'll for sure read whatever it is she writes next!

Desperate Chances by A. Meredith Walters

Sex changes everything.

And love can turn into an enemy…

Mitch Abrams, the bassist for the popular rock band Generation Rejects, has been in love with Gracie Cook for years. But Gracie, a complicated girl with a lot of baggage, was too blind to see how she felt about the man who had always stood by her.

Until one night of passion brought them closer than they had ever been before.

Feeling off balance and out of control, Gracie does the only thing a girl with self-destructive tendencies can do: end things with Mitch before they can really begin.

So Mitch moves on. With his band, his friends, and a new girlfriend.

Yet he can’t seem to forget about the girl who threw his heart away.

Gracie, who is still struggling to build a life after crashing to the bottom, finds it hard to forget about her one night with Mitch. And even as she tries to convince herself it was only sex, her heart knows differently.

But life is full of chances and desperate moments. And when Mitch and Gracie are thrown back into each other’s lives, will they seize at the opportunity to do things right?

Or will the rock star and the less than ordinary girl crash and burn?

My Review

Friends to lovers gone wrong!
Like the blurb says, 'sex changes everything'.
Sometimes it makes your relationship so much stronger and other times, it ends them all together.
Unfortunately for best friends Mitch and Gracie, it was the latter.

Ugh, the angst and heartbreak!!

I felt for Gracie.
She's trying to change her life, mend her ways and make a new path for herself,  yet her family just couldn't believe in her.
Her mother's behavior towards her made me want to reach in and smack her!

Then there's Mitch!
I liked him a lot!
His feelings for Gracie were so raw, and so real! He wasn't afraid to show his emotions.
Sadly for him, his big heart was stomped on and crushed to bits!

Their connection was so strong that even I could feel it.
I was rooting for them!

This story is filled with love, pain and sorrow!
But, there's also friendship, camaraderie, and laughter!

I loved the incorporation of all the previous characters.
Not only was this Mitch and Gracie's story, but it was like a big family reunion! What is everyone up to? What does the future hold?

The laughter I mentioned... Viv and Cole!!! Need I say more?
Their naughty antics had me constantly laughing out loud!

This was the perfect way to wrap up a series!

Fade to Red by Willow Aster

Fade to Red

Synopsis
Dancing in pop superstar Beckham Woods’ entourage was the last thing Roxie wanted. Her life with little Leo was blissfully ordinary; she didn’t have time for the drama that stirring up old memories would surely cause.

But when Roxie took a spot on an international tour with Woods and rock icon Ian Sterling, the lure of financial security and her passion for dance pulled her into an emotional storm that threatened to spin out of control and hurt the ones she loved most.

Just as she began to adjust to her new life, it became apparent that danger was in the shadows, waiting for a chance to move...

***Fade to Red is a standalone novel featuring characters from True Love Story.***

My Review

I was really surprised by this book. It took turns that I did not see coming!

For me, this was really three stories in one!
Beckham and Roxie, Ian and Sparrow AND a mysterious someone.

Ian and Sparrow
If you are a fan of True Love Story, like I am, then you'll be ecstatic to know that Ian and Sparrow's journey continues in this book.
Where are they now? How has their relationship progressed? Has Ian really changed?

"The broken parts that made him who he was had been welded back together. The scars were there to make him appreciate what he had, but new skin had grown in its place."

"You didn't lose the love of your life and then get her back and not learn something from it."

LOVE!!!
Ian and Sparrow's love for each other has only gotten stronger and oh what a bonus it was to have those parts in Ian's POV!!!
Their moments together are not only about love and passion, but also filled with humor and real life.

Beckham and Roxie
Beckham is a rock god. Sexiest Man Alive. Celebrity musician since his youth and with that spotlight comes everything you'd imagine a rock star's life to entail.

Roxie is a beautiful dancer. She's talented beyond belief.. She's also struggling to provide a happy life for her family.
From the moment these two meet. sparks fly! Their chemistry is off the charts, especially when they dance on stage together.

You want them together!!
The way he looks at her and the way she makes him feel!! UGH butterflies!!!

But Roxie is more cold than hot, leaving Beckham in a state of confusion.
She has her reasons for keeping her distance, but the pull towards Beckham gets harder and harder to resist.

The mysterious narrator???
Who is it? WTF is going on? Can you feel the creeps?? I sure did.

This one has it all, sexual tension, romance, humor, sweet and adorable. But mixed in with all of that are twists and turns, creepy craziness and SUSPENSE!!

The ending... what the F***????

Fighting His Fire (The Rock Gods, #6) by Ann Lister

Fighting His Fire (The Rock Gods Book 6)Blurb
Locked-down at a Los Angeles intervention facility, everyone around Dante Dupont and his Black Ice band mate, Ashton Lane, thought this would fix the issues between them. Dante and Ashton knew differently. What made this a hundred times worse was the fact they were stuck in this room together. They hadn't shared space like this since the one afternoon they both wanted to forget. And, revisiting that nightmare was not an option . . . with or without the help of a therapist.
Two musicians. Same band. Afraid to admit their true feelings, being in close quarters again has them both at their breaking point. They say if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, but neither of them can find a reason to leave, and fighting the fire is becoming more and more difficult to do.
Dante's baggage isn't pretty and his scars run deep, but Ashton might be the one to finally see beyond his past and help him find a way out from the smoke screen he's spent his life hiding behind.
In order to get there, though, they'll both have to walk through the flames.

My Review

Dante and Ashton.
Band mates and members of Black Ice.
We last saw them at the end of book 5 being duped into an intervention
and pretty much locked in a room, together.

Their relationship and 80% of this book?

"Contentious. Volatile. Physical."

And lets not forget combustible and explosive!

These men are like live wires. They go anywhere near each other and sparks fly. They go to battle with each other both physically and mentally.
Sexually? The chemistry will threaten to burst your Kindle into flames!

"If you want me naked... you do it."

"Inside you, Ashes. That's where I need to be."

I'm serious people. HOT!
And did I mention the addition of a little voyeurism and bdsm?? You'll just have to read it for yourself!

There's hotness and lust, yes, but also vulnerability.
Dante has a past he's ashamed of and struggles with.
I enjoyed the tender moments we got from him, even when he wasn't quite sure how to deal with them.
"I'm not good with the tender side of this shit, Ashes, but for you I'll try just about anything to keep you in my bed."

I enjoyed Dante and Ashton's story as well as revisiting with old characters.
I look forward to finding out all about Linc in book 7!!

Resist: Gavin (Sphere of Irony Book 3) by Heather C. Leigh

All Gavin Walker, bass player for the multi-platinum selling band,
Sphere of Irony, wants to do is surf, play music, and occasionally get laid. The problem is that Gavin has a stalker. A potentially deadly one. The threats he receives always mention something about Gavin being gay, which isn't public knowledge since the record label wants to keep it quiet.

Mitch Hale used to track serial killers for the FBI.
A live-changing incident led him to quit the bureau and start his own company providing computerized security for Los Angeles' wealthiest people.
Mitch doesn't know anyone when he moves across the country from D.C. to California, and all he has for companionship is a pathetic string of failed relationships with women.

When Gavin's manager hires Mitch to find the stalker,
the men instantly hate each other. Despite the constant fighting, attraction between the two blazes hot, confusing the former FBI agent.
Spending time with Gavin forces Mitch reflect on what he's denied about himself for the last ten years. Listening to Mitch's plan to catch a madman thrusts Gavin's personal life out in the open for the entire world to see.

Can Gavin and Mitch stop fighting long enough to stop a stalker before someone gets hurt? Or will they stubbornly resist the feelings that develop when they're forced to work together?

*This is book 3 in a 4 part series. It is a spin-off of the Famous Series. These can be read as standalones.

WOW!! This was my first read from Heather C. Leigh and I loved it!

From the beginning I was absolutely captivated and a little emotional.
I was intrigued by Gavin's past, and I wanted to know more!

"I've always loved the ocean. It's peaceful on the outside, but as they've always said, looks can be deceiving. Under those blue-green waves lie torment and fury and the ability to cut a grown man down. Sort of like me, beautiful on the outside- or so people tell me- but inside, I'm a twisted wreck of anguish and self-hatred."

This is  the story of Gavin, the hot, gay, but not out to the music industry, bass player of Sphere of Irony.
He has been plagued by a stalker and it's gotten way out of hand.
Cue the hot as hell ex-FBI agent Mitch to head up security and bring the stalker down.
These two have an instant connection. While Gavin is instantly attracted and trying desperately not to be, Mitch doesn't understand the odd feeling he has toward this moody rock star who he strangely happens to find absolutely gorgeous!

This story is so damn sexy and delicious!! The chemistry between these two is sizzling hot!

"He uses my hair to direct my lips back to his, claiming me in the messiest, hottest, dirtiest mouth fuck of my life."

It's also hilarious and had me laughing out loud.
I rather enjoyed the references to Point Break! Gavin being a surfer and Mitch being undercover! One of my fave movies, by the way!

"Holy shit. Johnny Utah is a bottom I think I just died and went to heaven."

It was playful and fun, but also mysterious with a touch of melancholy.
Superb writing that kept me intrigued and entertained. I have found a new author to add to my love list!

Although this is book 3 in the Sphere ff Irony series, it can be read as a standalone. I did not get the feeling as if I missed anything. BUT, I will say that I now want to read more from this author and will definitely go back to read books 1 and 2.
AND... book 4?? Hawke??
